How do I convert my diesel to biodiesel?

I have a 1998 24 valve cummins trubo diesel truck, and I was wondering what do we need to replace to have the truck run on biodiesel. I have heard that this model may need replacement of the fuel pump, but im not sure what kind of fuel pump I would need. I am planning on using 100% rather than the lower blends, or filtered vegitable oil

If you are using an older vehicle, other than changing the fuel lines and changing the filter if it clogs(which it most likely will, then never again) you don't need to make any changes. If your using a new vehicle then your already good to go. When changing the hoses, use synthetic material, NOT RUBBER, the biodiesel will eat away at rubber, but not synthetic material.

Be AWARE that the available supplies of biodiesel are not expected to meet demand over the next 2 years in USA.

Cummins have kitted this conversion process where it is recommended.

You are talking about SVO, there is no conversion needed to run bio-diesel.

If you are going to run bio diesel you do not need to do any serious modifications. The only thing I would worry about is fuel lines. If you have any rubber fuel lines you will want to replace them because bio diesel is a good solvent and will eat through those types of fuel lines. Also if you plan to go straight to B100 (100% bio diesel) I would have a few fuel filters on hand, when I started making my own bio diesel I had to replace about three fuel filters. The reason for this is that deposits in your tank will get loosened up because of how bio diesel is a solvent. Once you get a few tanks through it will stop clogging up and your motor will actually run smoother. When I started running it in my 6.0L Powerstroke it ran smoother and the whole fuel system ran cleaner, it just took a few tanks to get everything clean out. But I do recommend you start with a blend like B50 or B80 just to see how your motor will react to this fuel most likely it will be just fine but it is better to be safe than sorry and blends tend to work with no problems at all and after a few tanks move up to B100. Diesels can burn all kinds of oil ,even lube oil. Should not cause U any problems . The only catch is to filter it through a fine filter so there will be nothing to stop up your injectors.
